How To Report Rape

    Rape is defined as the invasion of any part of the body of the victim or of the perpetrator with a sexual organ, or of the anal or genital opening of the victim with any object or any other part of the body by force, coercion, taking advantage of a coercive environment, or against a person incapable of giving genuine consent (International Criminal Court). Date rape is a rape that is committed by the person with whom the victim is on a date. 

Go to police and report about what happened. You have to be having all the evidence with you ; don’t  wash your body, change clothes and don’t urinate. If you do these you will be able to preserve all the evidence of rape.

Gender Based Violence

This is violence based on gender because of gender difference between women and men; it can be emotional, physical, financial based kind of violence.

Physical violence includes sexual assault or physical assault. It involves things like rape, wife battery, throwing each other out to control something.

Emotional violence includes incurring a person emotional trauma through verbal abuses, gossiping, defamation, sex withdrawal and not showing love.

Financial based violence involves having financial control over your partner. Starving off your partner money is a financial violence.  

Causes of Gender Violence

Poverty is a big factor to many gender violence cases since the people who do this act  of gender violence are usually idle minded and jobless therefore they don’t have anything better to think about. If they were busy they could be on job duty or busy not taking drugs, fights or raping.

Sexual harassment is Any unwelcome, usually repeated and unreciprocated sexual advance, unsolicited sexual attention, demand for sexual access or favours, sexual innuendo or other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature, display of pornographic material, when it interferes with work, is made a condition of employment or creates an intimidating, hostile or offensive work environment (United Nations High Commission for Refugees)

Sexual harassment is very common since people don’t want to be rejected or don’t understand each other. Sometimes sexual harassment fades as time goes by and you two know each other, but sometimes the man or woman makes advances even after knowing your situation or after rejecting them.
